Prior to cutting, meticulous analysis of inclusions, flaws, natural coloration, and the raw stone's original shape is conducted. Color
Diamonds are assessed according to their color saturation, ranging from complete absence of color to light yellow on a scale from D to Z. Rarity characterizes absolutely colorless diamonds, rendering them immensely valuable.

Similar to how individuals are recognized for their distinctive features like blue eyes or brown hair, a diamond is distinguished by its inherent traits. VS1, VS2 Diamonds: Very Slightly Included, Inclusions are visible under 10x magnification to a skilled grader.
SI1, SI2 Diamonds: Slightly Included, Inclusions are visible under 10x magnification and may be visible with the unaided eye.
I1, I2, I3 Diamonds: Included, Inclusions are visible with the unaided eye.
Carat Weight
Diamond weight is quantified in carats, with one carat equivalent to 0.2 grams or 0.007 ounces. Carat weight can be further subdivided into points, with 100 points comprising one carat. Thus, a 0.25 carat stone can also be denoted as 25 points, signifying the same weight. However, when comparing two diamonds, it's crucial to understand that doubling the carat weight doesn't necessarily translate to doubling the apparent size.
What are Laboratory-Grown Diamonds?
Laboratory-grown diamonds are REAL diamonds. They have essentially the same chemical, optical and physical properties and crystal structure as Earth-grown diamonds...in other words, laboratory-grown diamonds have the same DNA as Earth-grown diamonds and thus are real diamonds. They respond to light in the same way and are just as hard. The main differences between laboratory-grown and Earth-grown diamonds are where they grow and the length of time needed before harvesting can occur: one grows in the Earth over billions of years and the other in a laboratory in as little as 6 weeks. Think of it this way: laboratory-grown diamonds are like ice from your refrigerator, while Earth-grown diamonds are like ice from a glacier. They are both ice, although their formation stories and the age of each are very different.
